No compression

I have an engine that has not run for 30 yrs. I got new piston ring and new spark plug, but there is no compression. Everything is sealed up but literally zero compression. Someone told me that the crank case might need a new gasket. Is that possible, that I get no compression because the crankcase gasket?

Has anyone had this problem?

No compression

replacing a ring will not help. the papoose has 2 rings which are pinned to stop rotation. should help your compression problem

I replaced the piston rings and it didnt help. I was told that the 2 stroke engine might have a flap valve that is missing. Does anyone know anything about that?

I have a 1955 with a 98cc Villiers engine. This engine has a brass compression release protruding from the bottom of the crankcase. When I bought the scooter the auction house representative could not start it, (No Compression). When I got it home my dad spotted the compression release under the engine. Closed it and fired it up. Man that was back in 1963, long time ago.
