Trying to date my corgi mk1 (Brockhouse Corgi)

Hi I have a corgi MK1 single speed no kick start bump start only it has the clutch but no lifting footrest clutch just the one on the handlebars. The chassis number is a 4 digit number starting 37**, engine number is MKI W835**. Between the Mk1 stamp and the 5 digit number there is a small circle stamped with BES 157 it is very small.

Any help with dating this bike would be great.

Hi, I asked the question of Peter Miller who wrote the book "From Welbike to Corgi". My MK1 frame number is also 37** and engine number is MK1 W10*** - I suspect that you have one too many asterisks on your posted number...... 83 thousand weren't made.......
Mine was tentatively put at early 1948, so I suspect that yours would be in a similar region. HTH.

Thanks for the info! Seems strange to be asking now as I have had the bike for over 50 years.
